Overview

About this session

In this short, a leader from Magna Legal Services speaks with Orvera AI Founder and CEO Ali Merchant about the pace of change in AI. With new releases arriving almost every day, he argues that companies have to stay open to evolving rapidly, and that businesses unwilling to adapt will lose ground and eventually become extinct.

He also explains that there is room for more than one company to succeed, provided it embraces the dramatic changes of the last few years and those still to come. In legal services, that openness has to be balanced with defensibility in court, which is why Magna is committed to building talent and a culture that embrace change. The clip is designed for enterprise leaders planning how their organizations adapt to AI.

Key takeaways

  • Room for more than one. Several companies can win if they stay open to change.

  • Balance speed with defensibility. In legal services, change must hold up in court.

00:00:00.00 You see a new release, it feels like every day. And I think we need to be open. Again, I keep using this word evolving, but open to evolving rapidly with it. And I feel like for Magna, but also our competitors, I think if you don't evolve, you're, you lose, you're done, you're out. I think there's room for more than one company to evolve, but you need to be open to the dramatic changes that have come over the last couple of years and that may continue to come. We need to balance it. We need to balance it with, in our case, defensibility in court and law.

00:00:34.84 But you need to be open to evolving with changes in technology. And if you don't, I think you'll become extinct. So we are committed to having talent and culture that embraces changes that we've seen today, but changes that are yet to come.
